One Health, One Welfare: A Holistic Approach to a Just and Fair World

Why One Health, One Welfare Matters

Imagine a world where people, animals, and the environment thrive together. At Samayu, we recognize that the health of one impacts the health of all. Through our One Health, One Welfare (OHOW) initiative, we are working to build a food system that respects farmers, protects public health, and ensures responsible farming practices.

With rising concerns about zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and industrial farming, there is an urgent need for solutions that connect human, animal, and environmental well-being. One Health, One Welfare is not just a concept—it’s a movement for a healthier and fairer future.

Our Initiatives & Impact

  • 🔹 Training & Capacity Building

We work closely with farmers, government officials, and NGOs to provide practical training on disease prevention, biosecurity, and responsible farm management.

  • 🔹 Stakeholder Engagement

By bringing together policymakers, scientists, and industry leaders, we foster cross-sector dialogues that drive meaningful reforms.

  • 🔹 Policy Advocacy & Research

We collaborate with government bodies, academic institutions, and NGOs to shape policies that prioritize public health and responsible farming.

What is One Health, One Welfare?

One Health (OH) is a globally recognised approach endorsed by WHO, FAO, and WOAH that addresses health challenges arising from human-animal-environment interactions. It plays a key role in preventing disease outbreaks, improving food safety, and protecting ecosystems.

One Welfare expands this approach by including ethical treatment of animals and community well-being. Together, One Health, One Welfare (OHOW) provides a comprehensive framework for strengthening food systems and public health.
